Afternoon everyone........my name is Lisa. I am 43 y/o, and I am currently going through a myriad of neurological testing. I had a NCS/EMG (looking for PN) on Sep 1st (been having numbness, tingling & burning pain for MONTHS). Both tests came back normal. So I am waiting to be scheduled for a skin bx to look for SFN.
As previously mentioned, I had the NCS/EMG on Sep 1. And on Sep 7 (6 days later) I started having these excruciatingly painful "charley horse" like cramps in my right big toe that would travel down the top of my foot to the top of my ankle bone. The NCS/EMG was done on my right side. So I have been thinking this MUST be related to the testing!!
Now I am not so convinced anymore. Today (Sep 10) I started having similar cramping pain in my left big toe. The pain is not nearly as bad but I am so confused and have NO idea what is causing this. It is SO bad in my right foot now that I can't wear shoes that lace up and I can't flex my foot upward without starting to feel pain.
I plan on calling my Neuro Dr's nurse tomorrow (9/11) to see if they have ANY idea what this might be.
I do need to mention that I have been dx with Sjogren's Syndrome (1 1/2 yrs in Oct) but just on plaquenil & evoxac for that. Not on any prescription pain pills at all. Try to stay away from OTC pain pills as much as I can.
Would REALLY appreciate ANY feedback!! I *THOUGHT* I had it figured out, nut now I'm not so sure.......
Thanks in advance for ANY advice/insight!!
Lisa
