Our 15y/o daughter was recently diagnosed with the above after an MRI for reoccuring frequent intense but very brief headaches called to her pediatricians attention at her annual sports physical. The MRI showed a 14-15mm herniation. Recently she has experienced questionable intermittent weaknessWeakness/heaviness in her right arm. She ahs no other symptoms that we are aware of. She was seen by a pediatric neurologist and he just told us to continue to see her pediatrician until the pain was so bad that she couldn't stand it. No follow-up recommended. Is this appropriate? Should we seek out a specialist to monitor our daughters condition, is so, who? We live in Nebraska and my insurance carrier informed me that if she sees a specialist it will be covered as an in network provider. How do we proceed from here?
