My 6 year old son had fainted and had loss of consciousness in July. He had a low grade feverAllergic rhinitis Coccidioidomycosis Febrile seizures Fever Fever blister Fever blisters and canker sores Herpes labialis (oral herpes simplex) Histoplasmosis Malaria Rheumatic fever Scarlet fever and a stomachache and headache. Since he hit his headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury on the tile floor when he fainted we took him to the ER. He kept fainting every time he stood or sat up. Doctors couldn't find anything wrong other than their best guess of appendicitisAppendicitis since he had some tenderness there. They took cat scans and an ultrasound of his abdominal area. They thought the fainting was vasavagal syncopeFainting. They took out his appendix and all was fine until last week. He stood up and walk about 10 feet and fainted again. Just prior to that day he had had three days of low grade fever with headaches and sensitivilty to noise. We took him to the hospital and they think he is having seizures. With his faint in July he was out for a couple of minutes and woke up crying and he was scared. With his faint last week he was only out a few seconds and seemed to "come to" just fine. (he fell on the carpet this time). Also, he urinated on himself one time in July, he fainted several times before they took out his appendix and he also urinated himself after he fainted this time (October). I'm been looking on -line to make sure I know what questions to ask, what to look for... He is supposed to go in for a sleep deprived EKG (sp?) next week. We have no family history of seizures, epilepsy, nothing of that sort.
