Chronic Pain Variation

I encountered a work related injury in 2007, as  a result my MRI revealed C5-C6 small right paramedian focal HNP mildly indents to the right ventral cord margin.  The neural foramina appears mildly stenotic bilaterally.  Although the compression is on the right, I experienced the majority of my pain on the left, and  6 months later on the right. Is this normal and where can I find the clinical reference to support this issue.  Yes, I was denied my workers' compensation claim due t this.
