Coccyx sinus operation - affect feet???????? Help me.

Hi,

I'm a 26 year old male. About two years ago, i had a sinus operation on my Coccyx area.

Now my left foot has slightly less sensation in general (although it's only very mild) and it's worse in certain areas namely the top of my foot below the toes (middle) and the side of left toe.

I have no weakness, loss of movement or pain - and other than that i'm generally healthy.

Could this be linked?

Please help.

Many thanks in advance.

THere are no nerves in the region of the coccyx that supply that area. Potentially this skin area is supplied by the L5 nerve root which runs from the side of the spine down through the buttock into the back of the leg.

More commonly isolated sensory symptoms in the leg can result from local trauma to sensory nerves in the foot ie from tight shoes etc.

If the symptoms get worse and progress however I would have have it re-evaluated by your doctor.

Good uck
