Cocktail Party Syndrome?

Cocktail Party Syndrome?

Anyone ever heard of Cocktail Party Syndrome? It's a Nonverbal Learning Disibility linked to Hydrocephlus and I believe my 4 yr. old son may have it. I'm looking for a qualified clinician to do a neuro-psych evaluation on him to rule it in or out. My son has been diagnosed as autistic and we believe that is incorrect and he actually has this little known syndrome.

Hello.

It is possible that the repetitive utterance is certain phrases or short sentences are being perceived as due to autism. Cocktail party syndrome is not a disorder as such. It is a term used to describe problems in communication. ( something like the "white coat hypertension" is a term used in a particular context).

Why do you think he was diagnosed to be autistic ?
