Codman programmable shunt

I had a shunt revision after 24 yrs of being ok.I am now 31. The dr also took out my old shunts, I had two.One not working,the other half working. The drs in my town kept telling me it was a cyst growing. When I got sick.I had fluid build up the size of golf balls on my neck. Four of them. Finally after they told me to write my will, (but just a cyst) and look through the phone book in another city because we can't help you. My dad took me to Dallas, where they were informed I had 48hrs to live. This was a year ago and I thank god everyday for his blessing. BUT........... THIS SHUNT IS GOING TO KILL ME ANYWAY..... MY DR WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE HE SEES NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE SEVERE EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS,SEVERE,ANXIETY,I JUST WANT TO SLEEP,NO ENERGY, SEVERELY SEVERELY DEPRESSED, ANNNND I AM ON MEDS FOR THESE THINGS NOW WHEN BEFORE I NEVER TOOK TYLENOL. COUNCELING ONCE A WEEK AND PT TWICE BECAUSE I HAVE VERTIGO, AND CAN'T WALK. ON A WALKER. I GO SEE HIM AND HE SAYS... ITS THE DRUGS... U LOOK LIKE A DRUG HEAD. I CRIED. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY? I KNOW IT'S THIS SHUNT. I FEEL IT.

I am sorry to hear about your frustrations. I am not exactly sure what you are asking in your post, but I would suggest you discuss your emotional variations with your primary care physician. You may have depression. Depression is a common disorder and very treatable, but it does take time.

Thank you.. I was asking if you knew of others who felt " lifeless" after this codman was placed. I used to to be a happy, out going person. Now, I feel like I am on the outside of myself looking in.
