Cognitive problems

I've had severe memory and cognitive problems for 10 years now. I can't process things or understand what I'm reading half the time. I can't finish a nowen because I get lost. It's severe enough that it impairs my quality of life. I started having anxiety and depression when I was17 and I was having some struggles with my work load. I couldn't concentrate well. But nothing like how it is now. I was an honor student in high school so I know I wasn't always like this. I  started on psychiatric meds for depression when I was 23 since then I lost so much of my cognitive skills. The problem I have here is that I know I was starting to struggle with school before the meds but it got worse after so I can't be certain that it's totally the meds or at all. I'm on lamictal now and abilify and I just found people complaining of memory and concentration problems and more like me on lamictal so I want to get the hell off of it. I had cognitive problems before lamictal too. Could all the drugs they've put me on affected me this way? They do slow your thinking down. I don't trust it anymore. I have had other tests run to see if it's anything else. MRI's, EEg, blood tests, neurology exam. They find nothing. What could it be? I want to get away from psychiatry and treat my mental problems in a safer way. I'm going to have to go against medical advice because they think I'm bipolar. I think I have mental issues but not so sure it's bipolar and there are no clear tests to tell. Please tell me how to find out what is causing my cognitive problems and then if I can survive without psychiatry?
