Compartment Syndrome Nerve Damage

Compartment Syndrome Nerve Damage

On Feb 18th I broke my tibia. I had an IM rod inserted that afternoon and was out for the rest of the night. I developed compartment syndrome on the following day, but my doctor waited until the 20th to release the pressure with a fasciotomy. This delay seems to have led to nerve damage in my foot.

I am now nearly 6 week after this incident and am still feeling intense burning and electric shock type pains in my foot, common symptoms of neuropathy from what I read.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in if the burning is a good sign (nerves repairing themselves) or bad, how long it might go on for and what my general outlook should be.

Thanks a bunch

Sean
