Complex Migraines or TIA's ?

What test can be done to find out whether some one is suffering from a Complex Migraine or a TIA? My husband has had episodes since he was in his twenties. .Ranging from every few months to every six months to a couple a month. He is 47 now, doctors said he had complex migranes (migraines), no reasons why, try these meds. several triptans, go to hospital if they change or get worse. This has been going on for over 25 yrs. now, they are different recently. He won't go to the doctor, says they cant figure it out. Somebody can figure this out.....Please help

I lost the forum where someone told us NOT to take Triptan meds, which I've used for years (Maxalt).  Can anyone explain why?  They stop the pain (usually) from coming.  I want to begin understanding this.
