Concussion Misdiagnosed?

by momoftwins96, Jan 31, 2008 12:38PM
If a person falls vertically onto their face/head from a distance of 5' and is not treated immediately, rather 72 hours later, can a concussion be missed by an ER Dr.?

Hello.

The ER doctor usually looks for any sign of life threatening condition. If he does not find any, he may not think any further, and may send you home.

The acute symptoms of concussion start fading away soon after the injury. Hence it is likely that the ER will miss it completely.
