Concussion.

G'day. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area-don't know where else to put it. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's. I've had previous head injuries: 1 contusion, few concussion & several other serious injuries even causing amnesia (twice) for weeks. This is my first concussion since my last serious injury which cause amnesia, mild hearing loss, etc. I don't have a family doctor, so I'm wondering if these symptoms should be seen by a doctor. I'd rather not go to a walk in clinic for possibly hours if it seems to not be serious. Also, are there any suggestions to help with pain, aside from avoiding thinking such as doing my Uni. asssignments. With my other injuries I don't recall anything aside from Tylenol & the usual. I appreciate any input about this. Thank you for your time.

Hello. I'm not sure if I'm putting thi info, in the right place. It's been about 2.5 months since my concussion. I didn't see a Dr. yet. I still have pain in that certain area of my head & ahedaches as my worst symptoms, tthen being aable to get a good sleep, due to the pian on my skull. I have a headache now. Are there DR's that reply to Q's on this sitte? I will see a Dr sometime soon, looking for a new Dr. I wish you all well.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate your input. I've forgotten about this post. I am just letting it run it's course. bought sleeping pills-strange though, one night I took 2 & didn't sleep at all. I'm not able to do more than 1 paragraph on my uni.assignments, but I'm getting by. I'm allergic to many med's incl. Ibprofin & anti-imflammitories. I'll manage ok, it's now a matter of how long I'll be messed up like this-a bit strange, like being drunk, or knowing you know something but you just don't, not a good feeling. Bless you for your kindness :)

Concussions can really mess people up. I know someone who had to leave her job because of a bad concussion in a car accident. It's taken her a year to get back into the workforce.

You will go crazy if you don't get any sleep! You need to see a doctor as soon as you can because concussions can be serious. Ask the doctor for some sleeping pills as well. It might also help to take an anti-inflammatory painkiller like ibuprofen. Although ask the doctor first because if there is any bleeding in your head this would make it worse.

Are you playing a dangerous sport?

Good luck and hope you get better.
