Confused re. TIA's as medical emergency

First, can a person present symptoms of TIA's over a period of years? About 20 years ago, was in hospital and did get diagnosis of atrial fibrillation. A cardiologist told me that it wouldn't matter is I took medication or not as the medication was only to releive symptoms. I decided the medication was worse that the palpitations. About three years ago, I thought my roommate was drugging me or something. I'm a school teacher, so this was serious. I couldn't formulate a sentence, stumbling, memory issues etc. Best way to describe-someone very very drunk without drinking. I've had many many instances of memory problems, understanding what others are saying, etc. I've been diagnosed with adult ADHD and take 30mg adderrall daily. Recently things have gotten scary, crazy bad hand tremors (need two hands to hold a glass or do certain things requiring fine motor skills, bad headaches, blurry vision, falling constantly (all bruised up.) Pretty much if it was glass, I've broken it. Major short term memory loss, confusion, stumbling etc. Scary since I live alone. Went to ER last weekend via ambulance as I was terrified I was having a full blown stoke. CT scan and blood work were fine but so was I by that time. This never last more than a few hours. I also get confused in a way that is hard to explain, cognitively, I know what is real, but I don't feel things are e.g. I have to think of things from long term memory to get to the point of understanding why I am where I am etc. It's so embarrassing I won't leave the house. Knowing where I live, I could get arrested for DUI. lol I did have an electrophysiological study done about 8 years ago and Drs suggested a pace maker. I've had many surgeries and said no way. I'm beginning to think I should've taken the heart thing more seriously. I do get major migraines and my grandmother died from a stroke, please help me. I'm on Cobra and it just ran out.
