Dear Marcia:
In some instances of c-spine disease at higher levels than yours there may be trouble with head and face pain. In your case I don not think that this is relevant especially if you have been diagnosed with TN by a qualified neurologist.
It is difficult for me to comment on the suggested operation without having had the opportunity to examine you and review your X-rays and MRI.
I do suggest that you seek multiple opinions from qualified neurosurgeons about this. If you are interested in an opinion at the Cleveland Clinic you may contact the office of Dr. Kalfas or Bingaman in the department of Neurosurgery at (216) 444-5672.
