Constant muscle twitch

My twitching started in September 07 with the little toe on my left foot and now its the whole foot and lower leg.  There is one spot on the side of my lower leg that when I press on it, it feels like a electric current runs down to my toes.  It hurts when pressing on the spot.  My right foot has started to twitch, but not so much the lower right leg.  I cant find a spot on my lower right leg that hurts like my left leg.  My neurologist is stumped as what could be wrong.  I have had an MRI on my lower back, which was clear, had numerous nerve conduction studies that didnt show anything.  Last week I was having leg pain that was causing me not to sleep, it was like my leg bones were sore.  I just started taking Neurontin and it doesnt seem to be doing anything, but its only been 3 days.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Go for Diabetes investigation and also find about your blood pressure. Check you blood haemoglobin and also find other vitals. If everything is normal it is always good to stick with your neurologist as in some diagnosis it takes lot of time, till all symptoms are evident and also when there are some associated findings in Scans/MRI, it helps. It is good that you do not have anything on your MRI and you might be having some nerve irritations which he has to diagnose the reason . Take care!
