I have MS and take 200 mg of Provigil a day. I have not had ANY adverse side effects from it. I dont feel high. I just feel awake, alert, and normal. Occassionally I still get daytime sleepiness but it has helped condiderably.
Hello, my name is Leila. I read your post on Provigil and wanted to talk more with you. I have RA and Fibro with extreme fatigue, brain fog, and of course... pain.
My doctor originally said he was going to prescribe Provigil for me but after hearing all of my other symptoms (inability to stay focused and complete tasks...) he decided to start me on Adderall (10 mg 2x/day). This medication makes me feel very jittery and sometimes anxious. I've tried reducing the dosage tohalf and making sure I eat before taking it but at the very least I still feel sort of buzzed. I've been on it 5 days. Doctor thinks my body will adjust but I'm not so sure. Does Provigil have the same side effects?
I'm an assistant principal in an elementary school and I'm trying not to go on disability but sometimes the side effects from the medications are just as debilitating as the disease itself.
Thanks a lot. I would love to hear more about what you think of Provigil and your
experiencxes with it. I appreciate your help. Roni
YES, it definitely will help you! I've known MS patients who are taking Provigil and they say it's a miracle drug--this doesn't mean it'll work fabulously for everyone, but it does do an amazing job of zapping excessive daytime sleepiness.
I'm taking Provigil for excessive daytime sleepiness as a result of sleep apnea, and the first few months I was on Provigil I've never felt more awake in my entire life. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of Provigil wore down a bit and I am now on 400mg/day, but I've never had any major side effects while taking this drug. If you want to hear more about my thoughts or experiences with Provigil, I have a great deal of information on it--just send me a message.
Keep me posted on how the MRI goes!
