Creeping feeling in top of head

For years I have had this creeping feeling that would occasionally go across the top of my head/scalp. Recently it has become more frequent and sometimes I have a small little feeling like tiny chills through my upper body. Is this just anxiety or could it be something else? I have been on thyroid meds since I was 22. I am now 67. Most recently I was diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome and have a pacemaker.

Without the ability to examine you and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of your symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Vague sensory phenomena in the head, face, or other body parts are not uncommon, and there is probably not a clear scientific explanation for them other than to say a transient spontaneous activity of a superficial sensory nerve of some sort. If these frequently occur in the back of the head, and are accompanied by tingling or shooting sensations in a similar place each time, this may also be related to arthritis of the spine or a herniated disc in the spine (the upper spine, the cervical area). However overall all such sensory symptoms are common and in general are benign. Discussion of any symptoms that are of concern for you with your primary doctor (internist/family physician) is recommended.
