Cronic Pain from extra vertebra and lumbar puncture

Cronic Pain from extra vertebra and lumbar puncture

I have been going through testing for MS due to having headaches everyday. I had a spinal tap done back in September along with 4 MRI's. The MRI of my brain showed multiple lesions and the one of my lumbar showed I have an extra vertebra. When I had the spinal tap done I was in the hospital for a week and had to have 2 blood patches done. Since the spinal tap I have extreme pain in my legs, hips, knees and ankles. I am currently seeing a pain specialist and I am taking MS Contin 60mg TID for the pain which helps. He is talking about doing some injections for the bulging disks caused by the extra vertebra but I am deathly afraid of needles and I am afraid it will only make things worse. I have to have another spinal tap done on the 9th of January because the neurologist I was seeking was a quack and told me after seeing "O" bands in my spinal fluid to "come back when you are walking like you are drunk or you are Paralyzed". I am currently seeing a neurologist at IU Med Center in Indianapolis. My family doctor mentioned that I could have something caused by bacteria attacking nerves in my spine and he prescribed a antibiotic and a steroid but the pain has not improved it has only gotten worse. I believe I am having pain from both the extra vertebra and the spinal tap but my doctors only want to stab me with more needles. I have very bad anxiety as it is and I have to be given Versette before the spinal taps any help you can give will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance and Happy holiday!

Best Regards,
JT Dillard
