DILANTIN / TOPOMAX(topamax)

Hi
could anyone please share with us the common side effects of dilantin and topomax (topamax)?

I just started 450mg a day of dilantin ( to be weened down to none in four weeks) and 25 mgs of topomax (topamax) to be increased to 100 mgs for the rest of my life, I guess. ( for a siezure)

I am a DIFFERENT person........... VERY depressed, tired, in a fog, eye sight seems to be worse, and scared about what i read about these drug effects.

well I take both Dilantin & Topamax to control seizures as well as Phenobarbital so as  you getting on the meds that  was the  same way that I  had too as it is to control them and has done a good job so far. I will say this that the Topamax has helped me lose weight.. That's a good thing if anything.

Depends now exactly the reason that they had put you on the two but neither of them will help with depression, believe me, as I took paxil CR for that but each doctor will give you something that you can tolerate.

You don't have to be scared as there are many that are in this shape as my brother just started having siezures and they put him on the Dilantin, and he is not able to drive for 6 mons.
If you focus on those symptoms that are printed then we would all  not be able to take it, as it will take a week or two for your body to adjust that you are having to take this and you will be fine...I want you to know that I am here though if you need ssomeone to talk to as that is how I am helping my brother cope.
