Daily dizziness for about 2 weeks now?

by dizzed, Jul 08, 2008 02:57AM
Hi. My first time to post in here, I hope you guys can help me with my problem.
For almost 2 weeks now, I'm having this "weird" dizziness. It's really not that painful. It's just bothering me with everything i do. It's really like having a hangover without the nausea or vomiting. It doesn't wake me when i'm sleeping. It's fine in the mornings and it feels worse as the day progresses.

For about 3 days ago til now, i was having mild throbbing headaches from varying locations in my head. Really mild though. I guess i'm just being hypochnodriac, with everything I'm reading in the net about my condition, i hope this is not a brain tumor.

I've been to an Opthalmologist and an ENT doctor last week, everything was normal. My vision's good, my ears are normal too. I was negative for vertigo. They, the physicians, had an unanimous conclusion - stress.
I admit i might be stressed, and they told me to take some rest, like get a lot of sleep, take vitamin B complex, etc.
But what alarms me is the duration of this dizziness i'm feeling. I'm not sure if this is already a serious condition.

1)Does stress really lasts this long?

2)And is it really true that this is all just because of stress?

3)I'm suspecting that something is wrong with my blood circulation because lately, i've been having mild headache at the top of my head (sometimes left, sometimes right) whenever i do something quickly.

4)I'm also considering another check-up with another ENT doctor or a neurologist next week if this dizziness continues. For now, I am trying alternative medications like meditation and maybe tonight, acupuncture.

Sorry for the long note, docs. I just can't find someone who will understand what I am feeling. I know it's kinda hard to explain as people really do jump at conclusions, but i'm trying my very best to get into details. Hope you can help me, I'm just 24, starting my career as an architect. Hope this is not serious. Thank you very much. I see your site REALLY helpful to those who need medical opinions.
More Power to you, docs!

Hi,

Did you get your blood pressure checked?
Hypertension or high blood pressure can cause headache and dizziness. Another cause could be a low blood sugar level. I would advise you to eat regularly and try not to skip a meal, maintain hydration by drinking adequate amounts of water as dehydration can cause headache and dizziness. Also make sure you get a  good nights sleep.
If your headache and dizziness still persist I would suggest you to schedule an appointment with a neurologist and undergo a complete clinical examination.

Thank you very much, Dr. Noopur..=D
I will definitely follow your advice.

The physicians never checked my blood pressure. I'm going to get it checked tonight.
I've read an article here in the internet, maybe the closest to what i'm feeling right now - Labyrinthitis, though i really can't be sure unless a physician confirms it.
I will keep in touch and post whatever update i can get. For the sake of those who's feeling the same symptoms.

Thank you again!

hi again, doc!

i just had my blood pressure checked last night. It was 110 / 60.
The doctor said it's pretty good.

Just an update on my symptoms:
-The dizziness is starting to disappear (or is it just me getting used to it?).
-Spot headaches still exist.
-"Out of focus" vision
- Tinnitus
-Mild ear aches

Some symptoms, maybe because of anxiety or depression include:
-Indigestion
-Loss of appetite

I'll try to visit another ENT doctor this weekend and have a CBC (Complete Blood Count).

I'm really getting depressed. Everytime i tell someone what i feel, they're all like: "you're thinking too much." and that maybe this is a "psychosomatic case".
It's really hard making them understand. And it's really hard for me to just ignore these symptoms.

Thanks again.

Hi,

So your blood pressure is pretty much on track. That’s good.
Sometimes Indigestion or GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) can cause dizziness and headache. Are you taking anything for indigestion? If not you can try OTC antacids and see if they provide any relief to your symptoms. Do keep me posted.

hello again, Dr. Noopur. Thank you for always replying back.
I'm not taking anything for indigestion. It's a late symptom (maybe 3 days ago), it doesn't happen everytime, just when i feel depressed. Maybe because i'm now getting some anxiety / depression problems since i really don't know what causes this dizziness.
I hope i will have the time tomorrow to visit another physician and maybe request for a complete blood count.
Just a question, Dr. Noopur. People always tell me this. Is it true that a vast majority of dizziness problems don't really translates to "life-threatening" diseases?
Thank you again, Dr. Noopur.
I'll keep everyone posted once i get an update.

Hi,

Dizziness can be caused by excessive fatigue, low blood sugar levels, high or low blood pressure, inner ear disease, depression, vestibular migraine, certain medications like anti seizure medications and anxiety. Most of these causes are benign and treatable. It is true. Although rarely serious diseases like multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, stroke and brain hemorrhage can cause dizziness and vertigo.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for that link, Dr. Noopur! It is a really helpful one! Though i wish there are more symptoms in the choices given, but nontheless, it's really good, thanks again, doc.=)

I just got my CBC yesterday.
My RBC are quite below average. If the normal is let's say 5.5 to 6.5, mine is 4.7.
My Hemoglobin is also below normal at 13.7. The normal is 14 to 16.
My WBC meanwhile is above normal at 10.10, the average is 5 to 10.

Physician said i am anemic. And was advised to take Ferrous Sulfate. Plus, i am taking Methycobal, for Vitamin B12.
She also said i might be having an infection somewhere in my body (i really don't know where) because of the high WBC in my blood.

The dizziness, i think, is quite less now, and also the throbbing headaches. I don't know if it's just my body getting used to it but generally, i feel better than i did 2 weeks ago. I am now having problems with digestion, i think.
Oh well, i think i really need to get plenty of rest and really take care of myself now.

Thank you very very much, Dr. Noopur. You've been a really BIG help to me.
I'll keep in touch if there is an update.
Thank you again and more power!..=)
