Hi,
I would like you to know that I am a 56 year old woman with dandy walker varient. I have 2 college degrees (it took a while), have successfully raised 2 children.
The DWV effected me in my life but I didn't know what was up with me until I had a stroke at 52. Unrelated I believe.
I have always had trouble with balance, never quite being first up the hill or around the track though I really wanted to be. Distrated more easily and had to consider what I was being told more deeply some of the time. Poor memory of names and faces. Like things quiet most of the time, though also have enjoyed a good concert (rock or otherwise) at times. Like to dance but can't twrill cause get dizzy easily.
High intellegence but have to have things go in a calm and logical manner and sometimes have to read the material more than once.
Wish I had known about this as things would have made more sense in my life. But I have had a good life and your child can too. Focus on the positives, let your child have a gentle space and a place to go to be with calmes and contemplation without asking what is wrong because nothing is. We just need time to gather thoughts.
Good books are about ESP's (extra sensitive persons) which has nothing to do with anything psychic.
I am not one to like labels. So yes, I've been diagnose with ADD but what is that. We are all so individual. And with so many stresses in this world it challenges those a little different. I wish I had lived in a more rural and less demanding place than near and in a big city.
Anyway, good life, and love and acceptance are the keys. I wish you both all the best of life. I am planning on living much longer and the doc says there is no reason why I will not.
God Bless you all,
Barb
