Difficulty Anunciating

For the past year and a half, I have had problems enunciating certain words clearly.  It usually happens at the beginning of a thought, but sometimes I will also slur a word in the middle of a sentence.  It is noticeable to those who have known me for a long time.  It has not gotten worse or better over this period of time.  I have no other symptoms.  I have a very reputable neurologist who has run lots of tests of me and cannot find anything wrong, although does acknowledge that there is a problem "which we will get to the bottom of."  I have not yet seen a speech pathologist but will upon his recommendation. Does anyone here have any thoughts about where we should be looking?
