This question is in re: to Oct. 12 message from R. Ross. With the recovery time that my mom has had, we've heard that Dialantin (which she is taking to prevent seizures) can affect speech recovery. Is that possible? She is also having pain to the touch of her right leg at various time, what could cause this? Lastly, it's been 16 months since her rupture, and she has seen many PT'S, OT'S and Speech Thearpist, how long can we expect for her to continue to improve before we should discontinue the thearpy. I understand that this can only be a guess and an opinion but I'm in another state and only able to see her about every six weeks and don't get to talk with her neurosurgeon. Thank you, this forum is very helpful. R.Ross

R Ross,
Unfortunately the information you have provided us with is not sufficiently detailed to give you any useful information or opinion. If you can tell us what specifically happened to your mother 16 months ago and what part of her brain it occurred in or her symptoms, we might be able to give you some meaningful advice and/or answer your questions.
