Disease of Entire Nervous System

I have been trying to find a list of diseases that would affect the peripheral, central and autonomic nervous systems.  I have found diseases for each but none that encompass all.  I am looking for one with relapsing/remitting features and slowly progressive (almost step wise).  I will be seeing my neurologist soon and would like to attempt to narrow down the possibilities as it seems that we are looking for a needle in a haystack.  I would gather only a handful of possibilities would exist, if any, that would attack the entire nervous system like this.  Also, would lupus CNS affect all nervous systems like this?  This was my dx years ago, but I'm not sure if we need to look at other possibilities.  Thank you for your help.

Lyme Disease fits the bill.  It infects the nerves, and usually progresses, although this seems to depend on each case.

Thank you, however I have been checked for lyme disease numerous times and all come out negative for lymes.  If I had it my way, that would be the most likely reason as it would explain the severe bone pain I get off and on.  I am starting to think there is some type of infection in my brain or spinal column that lingers there.  I have had so many staph, strept and eployri infections among many others (some of which were MRSA) that I wonder if something didn't take root in my body somewheres.

I agree with Carol and...you live in an endemic state which makes it even more likely.  Many people have severe cases of lyme disease and never test positive.  The immune system is weakened in lyme disease so some people never form antibodies so their tests are negative.  I might consider seeing a physician who specializes in this.
