Dizziness Related to Shingles of face

by Barb113, Nov 18, 2007 04:36PM
I was extremely dizzy for a week before I got Shingles on my face from my lip to my eye.  Then when I was on Valtrex & Prednisone the dizziness left.  Once I finished the medication the dizziness has returned pretty severely.  It's never gone, is worse in the morning though.  Is there a connection between the two?  My doctor is ordering a brain scan as a result of his examination.

Thank you.

Hello.

If the herpes infection has caused a vestibular neuritis (inflammation of the inner ear apparatus responsible for balance), that could explain the dizziness.

It would be a good idea to await the results of the scan.

Regards
