Dizziness,fatigue,sweating

by Glorian, Aug 11, 1998 12:00AM

Although 88 my mother has always enjoyed excellent health.  Now she has multiple problems though not severe are troubling.  In the last month she has experieced severe sweating but not at night ..usually when she has been active, sometimes when sitting in an AC room.  Now she has dizziness,light-headedness when she awakens, pain in her temples and neck. She sleeps a great deal.  In the last few days she also has had some nausea .  Tests for Thyroid,Echocardiogram haven't turned up anything.  She also has phlegm collecting in her throat ..clearing it but not coughing. Where do we go from here?  Thank you

Dear Gloriann,
Your mother has a number of symptoms, none of which point to any condition
in particular, though a few come to mind.  Your best bet is to find a good
internist to completely evaluate your mother.  He or she will be better able
to diagnose and order necessary tests after getting the whole story and examining
your mother.
Good luck.
