Dizzy, shortness of breath, nausa

Last week I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I felt sweat on my brow, because extremely dizzy, especially when I stood up, a slight headache, shortness of breath like I could not catch my breath, and my stomach was queezy, I didn't feel I had to vomit, I just felt ill and clammy. It got so bad I went to the ER. they gave me torrodol in an IV, told me I was Orthostatic, and said my allergies were acting up. Well a week later, I am still the same way. They prescribed me Motrin and claritan. they also did a CT scan which the results were never revealed to me. Does anyone know what this could be caused from? noting seems to be helping for it to go away. After the ER, I was able to catch my breath, but my dizziness is still present. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am sure they ,look at me in the ER like I am some sort of quack. I am really scared. This has put a major damper in my school studies, and work concentration. Someone please help guied me in the right direction as far as medical treatment.

Thank you so much for your replies. No they did not do an EKG. they did blood work and it came back normal. the CT Scan showed nothing. But yet I am still this way to this day. I appreciate all the feed back and I will look into your feedback. I just would like some relief. They keep blaming it on allergies. But I have never had allergies like this in my life. Shortness of breath? headaches, nausea, cold sweats, clammy and dizzy like I am going up a mountain. (and that feeling is a constant).

I just read something that says when some people have a heart problem, they feel nausea and intense sweating and dizziness, but not always chestain. When you were in the ER, did they do an EKG?

You are entitled to get a copy of all of your medical records.  Before you leave an office or hospital, ask for a copy of everything on the spot.  You can also call and ask them to send you a copy of everything from the ER visit.  Then you can read the CT scan report yourself.  Did they take a CT scan of your chest?

Check out Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
Or check out other forms of Dysautonomia. I went to 3 different emergency rooms for months and months before they diagnosed me. I had all your symptoms; but I had syncope as well. Most doctor's have never heard of it before. It never hurts to check it out!
