Do I really need a brain scan?

Hi there I am In my late 40's, I have drop foot, calf muscle wastage, DDD, neck pain, body,face ,arm hand and toe tingling. I was told last year that these symptons were due to my bad back. after seeing a podiatrist i have been told that because my toes are clawing I need to see a neurologist and have a brain scan. I have no idea what they are looking for i don't suffer from headaches but i do get tired easily. also i am not diabetic. Can anybody help as i would like to get back to work, I have foot and ankle orthotics but they hurt so cant wear them for 8 hrs a day, this shaking and stuff is driving me mad :(

I would also suggest seeing a neurologisy for these syptoms (symptoms). I had the foot drop, very week, all kind of things. I saw the neurologist for approx. 10 minutes and I was given a diagnosis after trying to get one for months. I WOULD SUGGEST A NEUROLOGY.
