I have majorMajor tears Major-gesic +++ depression (came along with my MS 4 or 5 yrs ago) but cant really accept the bi-polar dx (Im not ashamed - I just feel Im not as manicBipolar disorder as a bi-polar person typically is - but then again, is there a limit to determine such dx)
I dont switch from extreme happiness to extreme sadness within minutes, I do get mad about normalNormal saline flush things but who doesnt?
I have never been hospitalized for any mentalMental retardation Mental status tests issues. HOWEVER I can not see myself in other peoples eyes so maybe I am - who knows!
I have my energy spurts (which come out of nowhere) on my so-called 'good ms days' (and I try to get as much done as possible b/c my next day may be a bad one) and according to my psych thats being 'manicBipolar disorder '. I do think I have manicBipolar disorder thought, for example, if I have certains tasks planned (regardless of their importance) they MUST be done or the rest of my days is completely screwed up - and everyone is going to hear about it!
Jee, I must be such a great person to hang out with :)
Ive read MS-ers have a higher rate of being bi-polar then the average person.
Anyone like to share their experiences or thoughts?
Living with MS is a great struggle somedays or most days.
I have a list I write down to get things done and yes,if I can;t complete them I get out of sorts, especially when I don't know what the next day is going to bring. On good days I get a lot done on bad days I get upset because I see things that need done and can't do them.
I also get upset when I ask for one of my children to do something and its not done I get a little upset.
I wouldn't call them manic, when we have spurts,we know living with this disease we must use this energy to our advantage,if we didn't nothing would get accomplished.
my dear friennnd has ms and is bi-polar. Since she finally had dx and the correct treaatments (meds/therapy) she is mcuh bettter, she still dooes have swings, but not near the smae.
Are you being treated currANTLY NOW?
if i rememeber to ask and see what meds she is using. althoughi know one person treatments can be diffrent from others, buti will seee. take care and hang in theree.
