Do you think I have MS

by Liane1111, Apr 03, 2008 08:06AM
Hit in head with wooden swing at age 5 migraines since then now am 52 year old female.  Wake up with headaches about 4 times a week and maybe migraines 1 x a week.  Get cluster migraines about once a month.  Neck hurts most of time and is stiff and hurts a lot at base of skull when i have headache/migraine.  30 years ago numbness in right hand and some in that arm and pain in right scapula.  Had emg then it was normal.  I inherited a kyphotic back from mother which continued to worsen till i had anterior/posterior spinal fusion with a titanium rod inserted the entire length of my thoracic and lumbar spine.  I was at a 77 degree curve and after surgery was at a 34 degree.  During these years my numbness continued and also moved into my left hand and now also in both feet.  Its a burning, numbing tingling feeling.  My hands have lost dexterity, corordination, strength and hurt the wrists are painful and thumb index fingers are painful.  An ortho found a little arthritis in right hand thumb and a little atrophy but he said not enough to be off work.  I have been off since early March as I made matters worse by picking up something that was much heavier then I thought and excruciating pain in right hand and wrist.  I do repetitive work as  cashier for 10 years and the last year i assumed i had carpal tunnel.  As time had gone on daily work and getting through an 8 hour day was more and more difficult for me lifting something new every 2 or 3 seconds.  This is my symptoms starting with the feet.  numbness, tingling, burning feet. toes spasm involuntarily, lower leg and foot cramps.  I can be wobbly at times walking its like I don't have a sure foot all the time.  Fatique. depression, chronic pain all over muscles ache after sitting for a little bit, bowel problems, urination problems (leaking without forwarning sometimes and visiting the bathroom several times a day) migraines, hand and wrist pain hand and wrist numbness, burning, tingling loss of strength dexterity and coordination.  my recent emg was normal again and the dr doing the tests said I should have some brain tests I later realized he meant mri for possibly neurological.  I fell down some stairs last April and hurt my head pretty good but didn't go to hospital.  Can't open a jar and or one can of food can only open part way and my hand won't do anymore.  I do not seem to have eye problems but that is about the only thing.  Do you think i am looking at MS Also because I have a titanium rod inserted I don't believe i can have an mri so what 2 other tests would you say are the most definitive???  please help thankyou
