Doctor near me?

I first of all want to thank you for this forum and the speedy answers you give to people.  Sometimes, the questions do not occur to us until we are out of our doctor's office and your answers do help to know if it is something we should contact our doctor about.
I know this is an unusual request, but I am a long way from Cleveland and I don't think my problem merits that long of a trip.  But, I am having a hard time finding a neurosurgeon in my area that I feel confident in. I live in Northeast Oklahoma.  I wonder if you could suggest any way to find out about neurosurgeons other than make a dozen appointments and see them all.  Is there a central registry that can tell me of their experience and skills?  I was referred to the one I go to now by my orthopedic physician and he is probably a good doctor, but I don't feel very trusting of him and that is a big part of letting someone operate on you.  Have any suggestions?

I don't know exactly what the original problem was, but since the message header says "spine" I assume you need a spine surgeon. I don't know about Tulsa or OKC, but if you are able to travel to Dallas, try the neurosurgery department at UT Southwestern. Call 214 648-3111. They have at least one excellent spine surgeon in the neurosurgery department (Dr Morgan), and I believe they've added a second.
Hope this helps. CCF MD mdf.
