Double vision, strange + strange feelings

I am female, age 58, and though I have a diagnosis of a chronic major mental illness, I have had as well, a weird sort of "double vision" for about 4 years that I do not believe is related in any fashion.Recently this has progressed to the point that two weeks ago I had to stop on the highway and call to have friends pick me up as I could no longer drive. Reading is often impossible because it is difficult see the line of text through the jumble of letters.

An MRI in January of 2008 indicated several hyperintensities scattered through the white matter, a pituitary cyst and a 2-3mm bleed, possibly due to -- and I am not sure if I am quoting correctly -- a venous anomaly associated with a cavernoma? In addition to the double vision, I have been experiencing "brain blips," momentary feelings of what I can only call mental "absence," even though they last but a split second, say the time it takes to miss writing the "o" in the word "how." It seems silly in writing this to say that something lasting such a short time is so dreadful, but it feels as if my brain is turning over, "skipping a beat"as it were. It is accompanied by feelings of dread and impending doom.

I do not know if these upsetting "blips" are related to the double vision, but I will say that a couple of years ago I experienced a full month of olfactory hallucinations that went into remission only upon taking temporarily, Tegretol. When my liver enzymes went up I was switched to lamictal, which I still take today.

Does any of this make sense or seemed connected? Should I see a neurologist again? The first one \ told me that he saw no brain tumor and no reason for the double vision so there was no need for me to come back for another appointment...

Thanks for any suggestions you might be able to provide.
