Dr Abhijeet, have you heard of Alpha Lipoic Acid for PN?

I was reading and found a lot of people with PN have found relief with the antioxidant Alpha Lipoic Acid.  Have you heard of this?  If so, do you think it would help for me to try it?  And if so, how much do you take?  I am feeling awful, this burning is terrible today.  Thank you again, Jennifer

Could you recommend what I should do next?  Or who I should see?  Thanks for your prior response.  Jen

Hello.

ALA is an antioxidant. This property makes it useful for those cells whic are dying due to toxins. Such a cell death occurs in dementia. ALA is good for diabetic neuropathy. I am not sure how much it will help you. but you can try it. Since it is an antioxidant, it might just help.

Regards

I suffer the same as you and just recently started taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for other reasons, but on a low dose.  It would be great if this could replace the horrible meds out there that cause side affects that are equal to or worse then the symptons of PN.

I will pursue this too and if you get anything, please let me know and I will let you know as well.
