EEG and Seizure and Lamictal

I had a seizure on 1 March 2009.  Sent to emergency room, many tests performed, all came back normal.  The neurologist who viewed my results said to me when I came back to normal that "he thought I had had an Adult Onset seizure. "  He said that he sees 2-3 a month at the Strong Memorial Hospital. Rochester, New York.  Now, two years later, I have not had another seizure.  I was placed on Lamictal shortly after the seizure by another neurologist.  I have had side-effects because of the Lamactal, ie., coordination problems, balance problems probably related to the coordination problems, a mild rash, tinnitus, bronchitis (I do not smoke), and a persistent sore throat.  I have been pushing to be taken off of the lamactal.  I had an eeg done, and it was abnormal.  It is not clear why.  Why would two different neurologists have a different opinion.  Also, can Lamictal affect an eeg?  Thank you.

with Lamictal, it is not sopose to make the test result any different. it is sopose to make it to where you are "normal"
i had many for a long time, and every time i had something done, my tests came out normal.
I have to ask, do you know how many milligrams the doc put you on when you started your medication. from personal experience, and from what i have read, it is best to wean you onto the drug, rather than to just make you jump right into it because of the side effects.
