I have had an EMG, it's usually done with a nerve conduction test as well. Overall its not that bad. You will have many needles poked into your muscles but they are very small and it's basically just a little pinch. I was more bothered by the electrical shocks. I also had a induced leg cramp which wasn't fun. You will be sore for a day or two aftewards but overall its not that bad. There are all sorts of sounds. When your muscles are at rest they don't want to hear anything, as soon as you contract your muscle it will make a sort of "boat motor"sound. I'm sorry I don't have a lot of info to offer you but I wish you the best. My nerve conduction test came back normal but my EMG should myopathic results. Even after all this I am still struggling for a diagnosis. Best of luck.
Thank you for the info! I am not worried about the actual test as much as I am about the results. Then again if they come back normal I am going to wonder what is going on. Good luck to you and thanks again!
