EMG-findings ALS

Im going to do a emg in a month. I have als run in the family. I had tingling, twiching, weakness-symptoms since september. The weakness is mild but since i have the other symtoms im aware of it maybe sooner than you use to,if i have the desease. I can still use my limbs and do everything, walking, running, lifting, certain situation can only be harder for the muscles. If i do an emg now in for example the tigh/knee-area were i have these symptoms or in my chin witch is cramping, would the emg pick it up or do the weakness need to be of a certain degree first? How sensitive is the emg for als and can it be individual when in the desease you come outside the normal intervall. Thanks!
