Hello. This is the third time I have tried to get this question answered on this forum. I have had one
acuteAcute bilateral obstructive uropathy
Acute bronchitis
Acute cerebellar ataxia
Acute cholecystitis (gallstones)
Acute cytomegalovirus (cmv) infection
Acute gouty arthritis
Acute hiv infection
Acute kidney failure
Acute lymphocytic leukemia (all)
Acute lymphocytic leukemia - photomicrograph
Acute pancreatitis attack of
transverseColles’ wrist fracture myelitisMalignant otitis externa
Osteomyelitis
Poliomyelitis which resulted in lower body
paralysisCerebral palsy
Facial paralysis
Isolated sleep paralysis
Laryngeal nerve damage
Muscle function loss
Parkinson’s disease
Poliomyelitis. I am now recovering and able to walk fairly well with only occasional use of a cane. I have an abdominal hernia which is getting larger, and I will probably require surgery within the next few months. My neurologist is concerned, and says general anesthesia can cause a relapse. I've tried to research this on the www, but have come up with references primarily to spinal anesthesia and
epiduralExtradural hemorrhage anesthesia being sometimes associated with relapses, not general anesthesia, although there were some instances of relapses associated with surgery. What are the chances of surgery to repair the hernia resulting in a relapse? (% odds?) I don't see how I can avoid having the surgery, but I would like to know what I can do to lessen the odds of a reoccurrance. Would appreciate a response. Thanks very much.
Dear Jen,
Sorry about the delay. I do not know of any
reactionAllergic reactions
Allergic reactions to medication
Dermatitis, reaction to tinea
Drug allergies
Febrile/cold agglutinins
Insect bite reaction - close-up
Intradermal allergy test reactions
Positive reaction to allergen
Transfusion reaction. In addition, I attempted a medical literature search cross referencing TM and sugery/anestheia etc. for the last 25 years. I came up with the same results as you did. Let me know if there is a specific agent that your doctor is concerned about and I could do a more focused search.
