Electrical shocks to achilles tendon

I ruptured my achilles tendon 3 mos ago.  Had surgery 2 days later and was in a cast for 6 weeks.  I developed numbness and tingling on the lateral side of my foot with sharp electrical shocks from time to time.  Those symptoms have resolved, but now the shocks are in the achilles area and are very painful.  What is causing the shocks and what an i do?

Hi,

The numbness, tingling  and electric shock like sensation could be due to nerve damage/ injury during the surgical procedure. It's advisable to consult a neurologist.
