Empty Sella Syndrome and Headaches

Hi,
I have an enlarged Sella and my pituitary gland is smashed against the cavity but functioning fine.  I suffer severe headaches as well.  I just had my 2nd surgical consult in 8 months to rule out tumor or cyst and ESS is the final diagnosis.  I take Topamax 2X a day  to help prevent the headaches and Frovatriptan to help stop a headache.   The problem is that The Frova is very strong and leaves me very drowsy, impaired, and loopy for nearly 3 days after taking just one pill.  My neurologist claims thats its the best treatment.  But I demand a better quality of life.  I am a full time student and I cannot drive or do anything.  My neurosurgeon and physician both agree that I need a new neurologist.

Does anyone know of a Headache medication that does not cause drowsiness?

Frovatriptan is used to treat migraines. It belongs to a class of drugs known as the triptans like Imitrex. All of them are known to cause sleepiness.
You can try NSAIDS like Excedrin migraine and ergots like ergomar. Magnesium supplements and biofeedback therapy have also shown good results as preventive therapy for migraines.
