I would like you to discuss this pint with the Neurologist. If he feels, phenobarbitone can be stopped, or Tegretol can be increased. Trileptal does not have any such problems, but clinical experience suggests that Tegretol is more effective than trileptal.
Phenobarbitone is known to induce enzymes that break down Tegretol. So, the actual dose of tegretol may not be available for use.
