Excuciating pain in back, right leg numb, severe pain in testicles and painful urination

My husband went to the ER on Tues for severe back pain, right leg numb & excruciating testicular pain.  They said he had a strained back.  In the ER they gave him:  Lortab 5/500 oral 2; Prednisone 60mg oral; Valium 5mg oral; and a Toridol injection 60mg.  They told him to go home & call the Ortho Surgeon the next day that they were referring him to and to contact his PCP.  Wednesday, he went to his PCP and the Ortho and the Ortho Dr was really mean to him, basically calling him a liar and asked him if he wanted some more pain medication.  My husband said NO, since the meds that he was already taking weren't working he didn't think more would help.  His PCP set up an MRI on Monday.  And he has an appt with a Neurologist on July 9th. He is still in excruciating pain, numb leg, & still has sever testicular pain and NOW has painful urination.  Isn't there some way to see a Neurologist or have an MRI sooner than 2 weeks?!?  We live in Richmond Virginia any help?  He has a very high tolerance for pain, but in the 12 years that we have been together I have never seen him in this much pain!!!

Once a mri is done the real cause of the pain can be known.Until then he can do back exercises and physiotherapy. The treatment will depend upon the diagnosis.
