Facial muscles around mouth tightening/stretching

Facial muscles around mouth tightening/stretching

I had a cycling accident where the side of my head impacted a tree. The chiropractor said I rotated the C3 30 degrees to the left and had post concussion syndrome for awhile. I was on pain meds for 9 months. The physical therpay clinic was suppose to do manual traction but simply did massages and TENS, but with the pain managed with drugs I didn't really know I wasn't healing. Months later I began having facial twitching on the left side, icy cold spots on my scalp, electric shocks in my face and behind my eyeball. Over a year laer I noticed a droop above the left side of my upper lip and my lower eyelid was swelling and twitching. About 15 months later I started having periods of 3-6 days with constant heavy salt in my mouth. A neuro P.A. did MRI and found some small pinpoints spots of blood but said that could be from anything and no telling how old and was insignificant. Other than that found nothing but MRI of the neck showed that my C5-C7 are bulging. I was sent to a new PT clinic and they said I had Bells Palsy, treated my neck with manual traction and heat therapy with utlrasound. The PT also used a ES (electrical stimulator) on the facila muscles to prevent permanent droop. Since then the muscle in my upper lip began looking stretched and a symmetrical line where it looks pulled is across the area between my upper lip and bottom of nose. It seemed to come and go but a year later has become permanent. I saw a ENT and had a CT for spinal fluid leakage and that was negative. The salt taste has resolved and hasn't been back for about 2 months but the muscle strecthing in my face has now progressed to the muscle in my chin. The one that feels it wraps below my lower lip. I have moments where it feels like it is pulling down the corners of my mouth and sever moments when it seemed to affect my speech. The lower pulling was occasional but I now see lines where that muscle is becoming permanent as well. I have asked general doctors, a neurologist, a neurosurgeon, and I am waiting for an appointment with a neurologst with ECU in December. No one has a clue what could be causing this. Could this be a nerve damage related issue? Is this associated with the intense pain and burning I am feeling in the bas of my skull? I am seeing a pain management doctor for the pain, but I've had trouble managing the dosage and will be coming up short for my next visit so I'm sure this will break our contract. What about the injections the pain doc is trying to convince me into having done where he injects steroid solution into the lumbar sac in my neck? Do you think that a neurosurgeon could fix the bulging discs and this will resolve the pain issue? Should I continue seeking answers for the facial muscle tightening before anything else? I was tested for MS and that was negative as well. Thyroid was fine too. Please, just give me a direction to turn.
