Facial numbess getting worried

A few months ago i suddenly developed a bit on numbess on my left side of my face in the area around my eye.

It seems to be worse on some days than others.  I can still feel sensation and pain in the affected areas, it is more like it is partially asleep like when the novocain from a dental visit is mostly worn off.

The numbness has not manifested itself as pain in the area, I am just a bit worried about all of this.  The only thing I can think of that could be a potential source is dental, my upper rear molar has to be pulled and a root canal on the tooth next to it.  Those teeth are right below where the numbess is, has anyone had a dental issue cause facial numbness before?  I am sort of hoping that is it, i plan on going to the dentist in about a month to get the work done
