Fasciculations

by shandmark, Dec 23, 2008 01:31PM
I have been struck with body wide muscle twitching for the past couple of months. The onset was rather rapid  and started with spasms in the left tricep which within a week had spread body wide. The onset, I believe occured after I had not being feeling well for a few days (possible virus). The fasciculations are concentrated mainly in the legs, below the knee, but can errupted anywhere on my body. I'm also getting tingling and strange sensations in the left arm as well as general muscle stiffness. I'm not aware of any muscle weakness and the twitching seems to stop on movement of the muscle group. Also my sleep has been disturbed recently - not sure whether this is a consequence of the fasciculations or not.

Obviously, I very concerned about ALS, however, the syptoms (symptoms) do not seems typical for ALS onset. Any idea about what is going on - possible benign fasciculation syndrome, MS? I am scheduled to Neurologist to check things out.

Thanks
