Febrile or Grand mal Seizers

Febrile or Grand mal Seizers

My 7 month old woke up screaming at 2 am. I called 911 because his eyes were rolled in the back of his head and his arms and legs were tight and flinching. I took him to 3 different hospital and they told me he was having febrial seizers. I also heard from a family friend that her daughter was having the same thing when she was younger but she had Grand mal seizers. If someone knows exactly what he is having or think you might know, please let me know.

Hello,

Febrile seizures are accompanied by fever. If your child was running temperature, then it is possibly febrile seizures. If there was no temperature, then the same thing is diagnosed as grand mal seizure.

Even though they are different and progress in different ways, there is no difference in the treatment followed for them in a 7 month old child. The exact cause can be known later. So, please do not worry at this point and wait for your child to grow a bit.

Do keep me posted

Regards
