Femoral Nerve Damage Following Knee Replacement

I am 44yo and have been a fitness trainer and strength coach for the USMC for over 17 years. I dislocated my knee while instructing a class and did major damage and ended up having a knee replacement in December 2013. Upon waking up in recovery I was given a femoral nerve block for pain. While they were inserting the nerve block I experienced extreme pain that felt like I was being shocked repeatedly in my knee for about 10seconds which caused me to scream like I have never before. That was 10 weeks ago and I am having major problems since. I have no ability to lift my leg straight up or out nor extend from the knee. I had a nerve conduction study which shows acute axon all denervation and incomplete axonotmesis. I have no pain, tingling or numbness, however I have no control of motor movement. My orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist have never seen this happen before. This has drastically reduced my quality of life as I was so active before. I do not smoke, drink nor do drugs and had no medical problems. The hospital is taking no responsibility and says they are sorry I was not happy with the care they provided. I went into the hospital and came out worse.

Has anyone ever heard of this? If so, what was the final outcome. I am lost and desperate for answers.
