Foggy Feeling

Foggy Feeling

Hi .. My name is Matt Sanjel ... by profession, i am a medical transcription for the last six years and work in computer for 8 to 12 hours daily. For the last one year, I have been finding myself less efficient comparing to the past ... I have a feeling like ... blurry vision (I am not able to see clearly as if I have just awaken from the sleep in the morning and have the feeling almost throughout the day), dizziness, lightheadedness, have a feeling of body imbalance, lack of concentration at my work and not able to put my complete effort into my work as I am supposed to be.  After lunch hours, it becomes more worst, above all the above-mentioned symptoms, I start feeling sleepy and it keeps aggravating my real problems more. There are some days when after the work I even have a slurred speech and my tongue often keeps slipping.  Almost six months back, I had an episode where I had a type of complete darkness in front of my eyes for a few minutes and it resolved on its own .... I have never had any type of headaches, pain, pass out,     And then, I had a doubt as if I had some eye sight error and had all these above. Therefore, I went for an eye check-up, but everything seemed normal per the doctor who prescribed me a plain glasses for computer, which i have been using it since ... Please suggest me, whether I have an issue with my vision or have any neurological problems............ I would be really grateful to the one for any kind of help regarding my issue.

Thank you.

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

Though from your descriptions of symptoms, it sounds that either you could be over-stressed due to excessive work on computers. But I would also recommend that you should get your neurological examination done with the help of a neurologist. Since slurring of speech & sudden blackout can also be suggestive of any heart related symptoms, but as you are young therefore this possibility will be quite low. Finally, my recommendations are just avoid so long hours of computer job in a single stretch and get yourself examined for any brain lesions or any other neurological disorders. Hope this helps.
