Foot Nerve- Neuroma

I believe I corrected the cause of my neuroma - tight shoes, lax ligaments BUT NOW I want to know what are the chances that the enlarged nerve measured at .55cm by ultrasound will go back to normal someday?  Can excess sheathing and scar tissue be broken down by the body?

I need to believe a benign tumor mass like this neuroma can dissolve on its own?

Thank you for your response, I have opted for a revolutionary treatment.

Since I used a revolutionary treatment called prolotherapy to reinstate the proper ligament strength/length in the area.  (prolotherapy states that neuromas come from ligament laxity)  I now want to heal the damage since the cause is removed.  So, does a neurologist usually prescribe a TENS unit to speed up healing of the nerve?  In such a short section:metarsal to toe, is it worth it?

Hi, Thank you for your question. Neuromas are benign (not cancerous) tumors of nervous tissue. Any medication on this neuroma would be futile except that it may relieve symptoms of pain. As you already know that you can opt for either podiatric physician (deals with foot and leg related problem exclusively) or you can get it surgically removed. It is advisable to wear shoes with a bit large size for toes to be able to move, shoes should have shock absorber soles. Special padding in shoes can be used to relieve pain. Orthotic devices in your shoes can also be helpful to relieve pain and prevent condition from worsening. If the problem is unbearable then you can easily undergo a surgical removal of neuroma in out-patient basis and a few weeks of rest and pain management medicines can make you fine. Hope this helps.
