Foot drop Cause?

I have not had any issues before now.  All of a sudden I have a baby May 12, 2011, I had to have a C-Section and they removed my left ovary during C-Section, said I had a cyst to cover my left ovary and a partial on my right.  A few months after I had my baby by Jan. of 2012, I had foot drop.  I went to a ankle specialist because I didn't know what was going on.  I had a MRI of back and brain, back showed small bulding disc, and brain showed I have 3 fluid-filled cyst on my brain.  I don't know what is the cause of my foot drop.  What is your opinion.  If it is the cyst, why do I just now get foot drop.  I just turned 30 years old and nothing before now, this is my first and only child.  If my foot drop is caused by this cyst, what are the differnt options to drain fluid-filled cyst from the brain, besides putting a shunt in, I have heard so many risk factors and  complications later on from that I do not want to try that.  I was told out of the 3 cysts on my brain, one is a 1/3 of my brian.  It was said it was not cancerous just fluid filled.  I was told it was to risky to try and do surgrey, if they touch one thing I might not walk or talk again.  I was told to just let them monitor it and come back in 8 months.  I don't know if there is any risk in waiting and not getting anything done either.  I heard someone say they had 9 masses on their brain and got it drained from their back like a epidural, they went in 3 times to get this done.  I was wondering if this was possible?  I'm just not sure as of what has caused my foot drop, is it the 3 cyst which they said it might have been there from birth, well if so why now all of a sudden foot drop, or was it from the C-Section epidural, Once they had put my epidural in,  the nurse and the dr. asked if I felt any tingling going down my back or leg, when I said I don't think so they asked if I was sure, are your sure, I said yes.  Then said ok take it out and put it back in.  they did an ectomy during my C-section as well removing my left ovary becasue of a cyst they siad they found dring C-Section.    I just have so many unanswerd questions please help me, not knowing answers is very flustrating.

Hello, My follow-up

I just wanted to respond and let everyone know what is now going on with me.  My foot drop got worse, I was fitted many times for a brace to help me walk and was tested for a walking system like Walk-aid and Bioness.  My back continued to hurt me, I had headaches almost every day sometimes which would lead me to the emergency room throwing up.  I got to the point where I could not sleep on my left side anymore, my left arm would hurt, while at work my left arm  would start hurting me and the left side of my chest started hurting me to, sitting to long sometimes would hurt my back or if I stood up to long would hurt as well.  When I went back for my 8 month checkup in May 2013 the doctors told me that 2 out of the 3 cysts on my brain had grown and that they would definitely have to do surgery this time there was no other choice.  I was already told that If I got to the point where I couldn't function anymore they would then do the surgery, I guess I was well on my way, with the cyst growing the doctors told me there just wasn't much room left, he was surprised I walked in to his room that day and not on disability.  I still had the foot drop and was told there was no cure for it and that I would never walk right again.  July 9, 2013 I had the Surgery on my brain and was sent home to walk with a walker, I went home, walked with that walker a few days, Jesus and I did my own physical therapy, I would like to let you know I have returned back to work with a full recovery of health, my foot drop and my symptoms are now gone and all that is left is now a memory and a mouth full of praise and I am walking just like normal.  The pains in my back and left me substantially, I think I’m still healing from all of it but I'm well on my way to a cured life of back pains to.  I know many of you who have foot drop might have been told there is no cure because I was told that so many times and that if the problem was caught within 1-2 years and fixed by then you might get some usage back and then probably not all.  From the point I noticed I started noticing systems I went to a doctor, a foot specialist they just couldn't find my problem.  I tried to get them to run test, I had MRI's and x-rays, the x-rays started with my feet, calf, leg, knee, I needed to make sure nothing was going wrong there, then when they finally saw the foot drop and diagnosed me with that they started running MRI's on my brain and back.  The MRI showed the 3 cysts on my brain and then I was referred to a Neurosurgeon.  My back only showed a small bulging disc which they said shouldn't cause that and a little degenerated disc, I was sent to physical therapy for my back and physical therapy for my foot drop.  I was then monitored for 8 months until May 2013 when I was told I had to undergo the surgery.  I couldn't raise my left foot up or wiggle my toes, my left foot just dragged and slap the floor when I walked.  It was so noticeable, people heard me walking up the hallways and I could see the stares looking at me.  I prayed to God to lead and guide me to the right doctor and the right surgeon.  He did just that and I did not do the surgery with the shunt.  I am doing just fine and feeling great, I have amazed many with just how well and how fast I have recovered, I give all praises to God and I thank him to for leading me to a doctor who knew just what to do.  I am now 31 years old.  I hope this helps someone and may God bless you to.  Just to share this with you, I prayed to God many times sometimes in tears and I anointed myself with blessed oil every day, on my head and all down that left side that was giving me problems.  Anything wrong in my life I tried to make sure I cleared that and asked God for any forgiveness that I needed to, I wanted him to work freely in my life with no hesitations.  And now that he has healed me my life and my praise truly belongs to him.  God Bless

Hello and hope you are doing well.

The foot drop could most probably be due to problems in the spine. Nerve conduction studies are diagnostic and show the effects on the nerve. The compression needs to be removed for your symptom to improve. As for the cysts therapy depends on the size, the location and its pressure effects. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
