Frequent muscle twitching in left toe...please help

by PMLackey, Dec 27, 2007 08:23PM
I am a 26 year old wife and mother. For months now i have been getting frequent twitching and spasms in my left big toe that are uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. They happen most when my foot is at rest, and can even keep me up at night and make it nearly impossible to sleep. I tried an ace bandage one night and instead of my toe, my entire foot cramped. I have also had other symptoms on my left side, always the left side, including tingling sensations in my fingers and hand and sometimes it even feels like it almost goes numb. From something as small as typing, which can be uncomfortable when it acts up, but only when i overuse my left hand. I have also had pain in my left arm that wasn't just muscle cramping which i have also had before in my calves. But the intermittent pain in my left forearm on the top side, is very dull and achey (achy) but almost feels like my arm is puffy or swolen (from the pain) but it isn't. It's hard to describe. And it hurts to lower it to a straight down position. It doesn't happen all the time and not nearly as frequent as the toe twitching problem. I would think it was just a vitamin deffinciency or something but i don't get it in any other toes or muscles not like i do in my left toe. I am beginning to get concerned since everything seems to be concentrating on one side. I am scared. Please help.
